September 11, 1942 — October 5, 2025
Joseph (“Joe”) Richard Oill, age 83, passed away peacefully on Sunday morning, October 5, 2025. Born and raised in Syosset, New York, Joe was known for his kindness, humor, and love of life.
Joe earned his bachelor’s degree from SUNY Cortland and his master’s degree from SUNY Stony Brook. He began his professional journey as a dedicated teacher before transitioning into retail management, and later found his true calling as a life and health insurance agent, where his compassion and people skills touched many lives.
Joe was a devoted father, brother, and grandfather. He is survived by his daughter, Tracey Friend, and her husband Norm Monastesse; his sons Keith Oill, Kevin Oill and his wife Maggie, Chris Oill and his wife Angela, and Matt Oill and his wife Haley; his brother Peter Oill and his wife Sandy; and his beloved grandchildren Grey (26), Dana (23), Raphael, and JJ.
Joe was loved by all who knew him. He had a lifelong passion for sports—especially football and baseball—and could always be heard cheering, “Go Mets!” His enthusiasm for life, easy smile, and genuine warmth will be remembered by everyone fortunate enough to have known him.
In his later years, Joe enjoyed living in Lewisville, Texas, after spending much of his life in New York and North Carolina.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Little League Baseball at https://share.google/CBPYkAE6M3oNf7oOl.
He will be deeply missed and forever loved.
