Kathleen (Kat) Ann Greenup joined the Lord in eternal peace on January 8, 2024, after a courageous battle with Leukemia. Kat was born October 12 1967, the 6th and youngest child of Robert and Gloria Greenup.
She was born in Anaheim, California and raised in El Paso, Texas where she attended Burges high school, graduating in 1986. Kat lived in El Paso, Texas and Duluth, Georgia before moving to Dallas, Texas. Kat’s most fulfilling work was in childcare that gave her the most joy. She did love taking care of those babies and toddlers. Her other great joy was being a mother to her son Matthew. Kat cherished precious time spent with family and friends especially during the holidays and loved watching her Miami Dolphins football games. Kat had a light that would illuminate anywhere she was. That light has touched many, many people over the years and will continue to burn in the memory of all those she has touched. Kat’s life was cut too short but it was a life well-lived. The memory of her laugh, compassion and her love for life and others will continue to be part of our lives forever.
Kat has now joined her parents, Robert and Gloria in eternal peace.
Those that will cherish her memory until we join her are her son Matthew Greenup, Matthew’s grandmother, Carol Shields, and her brothers and sisters: Robert Greenup JR and his wife Becky, Chris Greenup and his wife Claudia, Gloria Anne Greenup, Mark Greenup and Maureen Greenup.
As well as many more loved ones including nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and countless friends that hold her memory deep in their hearts.
In lieu of flowers she asked that donations of blood and platelets be made to your local blood bank, or contributions to the American Cancer Society or Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
