Peggy was born in Chicago on February 10, to James and Evelyn Sanders. She received degrees from Loyola University Chicago and Western Illinois University. A devoted servant of God, Peggy answered her calling as a Sister of St. Francis at Mount St. Clare. Her adventures took her to Iowa, the Bahamas, China, and ultimately to Texas, where she took root as a dedicated high school teacher for over 35 years focusing on religion and spirituality at Ursuline Academy and Bishop Lynch.
She cherished time with her dear friends and neighbors, especially those in her beloved supper club and book club. She had a great love for volunteering, cooking and music. Her beautiful singing, warm smiles and infectious laughter reflected her kindness and special gift for bringing joy, light and friendship to everyone she met.
Peggy is preceded in death by her parents, brother Doug, sister Anita, and long-time companion Dina Benson. Peggy is survived by nephew Brian (Karen), niece Christina, and many other adored family and friends.
A memorial service is scheduled for August 15, 2026 at 2 pm at Signature Pointe 14645 Preston Road, Dallas Texas.
