He is survived by his wife Donna, his brother Gary Caffo and wife Kristin, his sister Pam Edwards, his children Nickolaus and Christine Nimnicht and her fiancé Alexander Fogle, as well as five nephews.
He was born in Dallas, Texas on June 26th 1954. Mark graduated from the University of Texas at Arlington with a degree in finance. Mark had a long career in security systems and engineering.
In October 2000, he married the love of his life, Donna Burch Caffo, and they enjoyed every moment of their 18 years of marriage.
During his lifetime, Mark had a diverse range of interests. He perfected the art of grilling and smoking food for family and friends. He loved exploring new recipes and cooking techniques. He liked fast things, including his Harley in his younger years, and most recently his 2016 Dodge Challenger Hellcat named Lizzie. Mark had a lifelong passion for cats, rescuing his first kitten as a young child, to adopting and caring for numerous cats throughout his life. Mark traveled extensively throughout Mexico, finding his home away from home on a little island named Isla Mujeres. Here Mark was inspired to turn an interest in photography into a part-time business, capturing the beauty of the island and its people.
Mark was a member of Irving Bible Church for 18 years, volunteering in several ministries during that time.
Based on the way Mark lived his life, instead of a memorial service he wanted to have a spirited celebration of his life. This celebration will be held on Saturday, September 22nd. For details please contact the family.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Mark’s memory can be made to Irving Bible Church or WaterIsBasic.org
