Miriam Virginia Murphy Ottenbreit

Born August 2, 1924, in Brookesmith, Texas, she lived in California and Utah before settling back in her home state. Besides managing the family household in Carrollton, she worked as a Sales Associate at the Montgomery Ward store in Northtown Mall from the day it opened, until the day it closed 30 years later. Her greatest joys there were in helping others, be it assisting her customers, or guiding new employees.

Survivors include her husband Floyd, son David of Flower Mound, and sister Willie Mime Johnson of San Antonio. She also has two granddaughters Melissa and Katharine. She was preceded in death by her brother Frank Murphy of Brownwood and her other sister Mary Nell McClellan of Vernon.

Burial Services will be held at 11 am, Wednesday, December 21, at Furneaux Cemetery, on Cemetery Hill Road, Carrollton, Texas. Family and friends are welcome at the service and at the gathering immediately following at the family residence.
