Myrtle King

Visitation and Rosary will be at 5:00 pm, Friday, February 27 at Rhoton Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm, Saturday, February 28 at Calvary Hill North Chapel, with the Monsignor Andy Sagra of Mary Immaculate Catholic Church, officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Hill Cemetery. Arrangements are by Rhoton Funeral Home.

Myrtle was born in Jamaica, West Indies to James Linton Thomas and Miriam Matilda Broderick on October 16, 1911. She married Oscar King in New York, New York. She was an active member of Green Acres Social Club and served as a Girl Scout leader for many years.

Myrtle is preceded in death by husband: Oscar, siblings: Keith Thomas, Joyce Harrison and Enid Elaine Tucker.

Myrtle is survived by children: Ruth Thomas of New York, Olive King of Carrollton, and Lois Nembhard (Barry) of Carrollton and, grandchildren: Duane and Robyn Nembhard of Austin, Rhonda Nembhard of Phoenix and Christopher Mitchell of Carrollton, brother: James Linton Thomas of London, England and Ivy Bloomfield of Coppell and many nieces and nephews and a host of friends.

Pallbearers will be Duane Nembhard, Christopher Mitchell, Jeff Thomas, Nigel Bloomfield, Michael Varnes, and Joshua Hall.
