

The funeral will be held at 11:00 AM on November 8, 2025, at Rhoton Funeral Home, 1511 S. Interstate 35E, Carrollton, TX. Dr. Jimmy McLeod of Trophy Club will be officiating.
Nancy was born in Pampa, Texas, on October 5, 1942, to Rufus L. and Olivia Allen Higginbotham. She graduated from Pampa High School and began her professional journey as a bookkeeper at Celanese.
Nancy married her high school sweetheart, Richard Hopkins (Dicky), on August 16, 1963. The couple shared 11 years together before Dicky unexpectedly passed away in October of 1974. Later, Nancy met Garry Boykin, a single dad, at First Baptist Church Carrollton. They married in December 1976 and spent 44 wonderful years together.
During Dicky’s military service in Hawaii, Nancy worked as a bookkeeper for Icee in Hawaii and the Pearl Factory. She and Dicky enjoyed square dancing and were active in their community. Nancy also pursued her passion for floral design and crafts. Over the years, her family’s journey took them from Carrollton to California, El Paso, and eventually to Granbury. In 2021, Nancy moved to Weatherford to be closer to her sister.
Nancy is survived by her son Damon Hopkins of Weatherford, TX; daughter Jennifer Mapes and Shawn, formerly of Vallejo, CA; son John Boykin and Debra of Springfield, IL; son Jason Boykin and Lori of Indianapolis, IN; granddaughter Katie; and two great-grandchildren, Finn and Zinnia. She is also survived by her brother Jerry Higginbotham of Bonham, TX, sister Linda Murdock and Dale of Weatherford, TX, sister-in-law Patsy Cook, as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, R.L. and Olivia Allen Higginbotham; her husband, Richard Hopkins; her husband, Garry Boykin; and her sister, Myrna Sue Beavers.
