October 26, 1948 – July 7, 2018
Nancy Marie Williams was born in Worcester, Massachusetts on October 26, 1948 as the eldest child of John and Mary Williams. She attended nursing school and worked at Saint Vincent hospital in Worcester. She met Richard DeSimone on a blind date which she always described as one of her worst dating experiences. Thankfully for Richard his overpowering charm worked and after a long distance relationship between Massachusetts and New Jersey they tied the knot on May 17, 1969. Nancy and Richard lived in New Jersey and Worcester where they started a family with three wonderful children, Bryan, Christopher and Jennifer. Shortly thereafter in 1978 they moved to Texas and remained there ever since. Nancy raised her three children and eventually found a job as a grade school cafeteria worker within the Lewisville Independent School District. She rose to the rank of manager overseeing the complete operation of grade school cafeterias, namely Forest Vista Elementary. Nancy loved her work and she formed several long-lasting friendships with her co-workers, teachers and principals. Nancy lived a very fulfilling life from spending time with family and friends, to traveling on European cruises, to sitting at home crocheting blankets for her loved ones.
Life is not without its challenges and Nancy faced several, one of which was her diagnosis of Lupus in 1979. Although debilitating at times, Nancy never let Lupus get the upper hand. She also fought and beat breast cancer in 1992. Nancy was diagnosed with brain cancer back in April, 2018 and naturally she chose to fight it. Sadly this was a fight she could not win. At the age of 69, Nancy passed away in the early morning on Saturday, July 7, 2018.
Nancy will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 49 years, Richard and her three children, Bryan (Melissa), Christopher (Althea) and Jennifer (Chris). Nancy leaves behind three of the greatest joys in her life, her grandchildren, Jayci, Kaylin and Ava. She is also survived by her brother John and her sisters Barbara and Carole Jane, and a handful of nieces and nephews. Nancy also leaves behind a wealth of unbreakable friendships.
A celebration of Nancy’s life will be held on Saturday, July 14, 2018 at 11:00am at Rhoton Funeral Home, 1511 South I-35 E., Carrollton, TX 75006

To all the Desimone family
Especially my friend Brian.
I am truly sorry for your loss.
I know the emptiness that is left and you have to believe there is light at the end of the tunnel.
The pain will fade but the memory of her will NEVER .
Stay strong everyone.
My prayers are with all of you.
