March 7, 1953April 23, 2021

Nancy Jean Pfleeger, age 68, of Carrollton, Texas passed away suddenly, due to natural causes on Friday, April 23, 2021. Nancy was born March 7, 1953 in Lancaster, Pennsylvania to parents LeRoy and Mary Erwin. Nancy's life took her to the profession of nursing where she attended the Coatsville School of Nursing in Pennsylvania. During her time in Pennsylvania, Nancy worked in the Intensive Care Unit. She later decided to become a traveling nurse and that's how she ended up in the Dallas area. Nancy worked as an ER nurse at Baylor Medical Center and Parkland Memorial Hospital. As she furthered along in her career, Nancy began working with patients in the Oncology department. Her oncology patients held a special place in her life. Nancy's greatest joy was having the ability to touch the lives of others. Many of her patients loved her and she loved them as well. Nancy was a dedicated nurse who demonstrated excellence throughout her lifelong contribution to the nursing profession. Nancy was sensitive and worked with a very close knit group of colleagues, who were very nurturing to her. She loved Dr. McIntyre, Margaret, Lauren, and all the staff and patients at Presbyterian Campus Texas Oncology. Nancy's patients and colleagues were devastated to hear of her passing. Everyone meant the world to Nancy. Nancy was preceded in death by her husband Gary Pfleeger. She is survived by her siblings Judy and Mike of Pennsylvania and Laura of New Hampshire; and many friends and neighbors who were dear to her. Nancy loved and adored her dogs; so in lieu of flowers donations can be made to Dallas DogRRR-Rescue Rehab Reform an organization that helps rescue dogs in the SE area of Dallas or donation of your choice to an organization that helps those in need. Nancy was an exceptional nurse. She was so professional, deeply caring, had a unique gift of listening with her heart & not just her ears. She knew how serious you took the results of your next test & always responded quickly. She was an advocate for all patients, but was fiercely protective of the physician’s she supported as well. She had a great calling on her life & fulfilled it with class & devotion. She will be deeply missed by me and all of her patients. I am so grateful God chose you to be my nurse Nancy. God bless you!

Nancy always made me laugh, and went above and beyond her duties. Many times when the office was busy she would pull me aside and get things done herself so I didn’t need to wait. She always took time to see how how life was going. We loved talking about her dogs and her new fence options. And when she was going to visit her dad and how he was. She was just my favorite nurse of all time. Nancy thank you for all of you’ve done for so many of your cancer patients and I pray you are celebrating complete Joy!!!
