On September 29, 1962, Nancy married her beloved husband, Dr. Robert Savell Putnam. Together, they built a loving family and shared 64 years of marriage. Their lives were blessed with four children, 13 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Nancy’s faith and love of music were important parts of her life. She was a longtime member of Chapel Hill United Methodist Church and loved singing in the church choir and playing in the handbell choir. She was also a longtime member of the Carrollton Women’s Club. Following her retirement from IBM, Nancy continued serving her community as a member of several City of Carrollton boards and committees.
During their retirement years, Nancy and Robert became involved with the Dixie Chainers Square Dance Club. They enjoyed square dancing at gatherings throughout the Metroplex and shared a love of travel, taking many cruises together to countries around the world.
Nancy is survived by her husband, Dr. Robert Putnam; their four children, Robert Gordon Putnam and his wife, Karla; Leslie Noelle Klamm and her husband, Kevin; Russell Drew Putnam and his wife, Christine; and Richard Dwight Putnam and his wife, Paige Davidson.

Nancy will be remembered as a devoted wife, loving mother, proud grandmother and great-grandmother, cherished sister, compassionate nurse, woman of faith, and dedicated community servant. Her greatest legacy is the family she loved so dearly and the many lives she touched throughout her lifetime. Her memory will remain forever in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
