Trying to describe Shawn in a few paragraphs feels impossible, because he wasn’t someone you could sum up quickly. He was the person who made everyone feel like they belonged. He could walk into a room and be instantly surrounded by people, not because he needed attention, but because people genuinely wanted to be near him. He never met a stranger, and somehow he had a way of making even the smallest interactions feel meaningful.
Shawn spent his life as a staple in the service industry, and through that, he built a huge family of people who adored him. What started as customers or coworkers quickly became friends, and those friends turned into family. So many people didn’t just like Shawn, they loved him, and he loved them right back.
One of the truest things about Shawn was how much he loved taking care of people. Cooking was his passion. Just real good food for small or large get togethers that made people feel loved. If you knew him, you were probably fed by him. He was happiest in a kitchen, at a grill, or standing over a stove making sure everyone else was fed and happy. That was his heart.
Shawn was engaged to Ariana Neutgens, and they were planning their wedding for May 2026. Their life together was full of handwritten notes, quiet nights at home cooking together, nonstop laughter, and a kind of love that doesn’t come around twice in a lifetime.
Shawn is survived by his fiancée Ariana; his father John Pierson; his mother Deborah (Debbie) Pierson/Inglis and stepfather Kyle Inglis; and his siblings Michael (with his wife Sally), Jason (with his wife Lauren, and their boys Stryder, Vann, and Steele), Chelsie (with her husband J.B.), Nicole (with her husband Brett), Brittney, Kori, and Brycen.
A Celebration of Life at 4:00 PM at The Hub Sports Bar and Grill. There will be no smoking inside the bar from 4pm-6pm for family time.
The family would like to thank everyone for the overwhelming love and support. Every story, message, hug, and shared memory has reminded us just how many people Shawn impacted. It has brought comfort during a time that feels unbearable, and we are deeply grateful.
