Ralph Mavridis was born to Natalie and Alexander Mavridis June 26, 1950 in Mexico City, Mexico. He and his family moved from Mexico to Chicago, Illinois when he was 9 years old. From there they moved to Dallas, Texas in 1967. He graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in 1970 and attended North Texas University. He met his wife, Brenda, at Marsh Lane Baptist Church in 1973 and they were married May 18, 1979. They settled in Mesquite in their early years of marriage, but moved to Carrollton in 1985 where they would raise two children and make it their home. Due to his immigration from Mexico at an early age, Ralph was never sure if his parent’s citizenship carried over to him. On July 23, 2004 Ralph Mavridis became an American citizen.
Ralph started working as a Sales Representative for Dearfoams and then Hunt Wesson Foods until beginning his own screen printing business out of a garage in 1985. Lone Star Images started out with screen printing later adding embroidery, all while teaching himself the in’s and outs of running a business. Ralph’s dream of building a business that was his own finally became Lone Star Images, Inc. March 6, 1997. His business only grew through his hard work, friendly demeanor and putting his trust in his Savior Jesus Christ. He loved helping others with artwork, creating designs, making them into T-shirts and building relationships with all his customers. After 32 years in business, he decided to retire in 2017. Even though he was reluctant to retire, it can be said that Ralph truly lived the American Dream.
He accepted the Lord as his Savior while attending the youth group at Marsh Lane Baptist. He loved the Lord and knew Him as his personal Savior. Ralph loved to be with his family and friends. His love and belief in Christ was evident in the conversations with people and leadership he had within his family. He spent his early years fishing and going on vacations with his family. Time and memories were the one thing he always treasured.
After battling stage four cancer, his diabetes was the true enemy. Ralph went to be with the Lord on Friday, March 8, 2019 in his home in Carrollton, Texas. He is survived by his wife, Brenda Mavridis, his children Ashley Anthony and her husband Spencer Anthony and Philip Mavridis, his loyal dog, Jacob and five brothers Alex Mavridis and his wife Alexis, Daniel Mavridis and his wife Janice, Gerard Mavridis, Leon Mavridis and Albert Mavridis. He was preceded in death by his parents Natalie and Alexander Mavridis.
