

Raymond Byrd Keith, 78, of Carrollton, Texas, passed away on April 10, 2022. Ray was born in Raleigh, North Carolina on February 18, 1944. He graduated from York High School in Yorktown, Virginia in May, 1962. He was married to Marian Lynn Guthrie on April 22, 1967.
Ray is survived by his wife of 54+ years, Marian Lynn Keith. He is also survived by his son, Brian James Keith; grandson, Tyler James Keith and granddaughter, Haley Elaine Keith. Ray is also survived by six cousins, five nieces, five nephews, four great-great nephews, and eight great-great nieces.
Ray was preceded in death by his father, Lt. Col James Byrd Keith, Jr. and his mother, Virginia Mae Peters Keith.
Ray served 4 1/2 years in the United States Navy from 1967 until his Honorable Discharge in 1971. He achieved the rank of Petty Officer 2nd Class. He was awarded the Good Conduct Medal and Achievement Medals. He served the first 22 months of his tour of duty RPIO, in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. He taught as an instructor at the Naval Base at Bachman Lake for the last 2 years of his tour of duty.
Ray received his Associates Degree from the University of Florida in Gainesville, Florida. He graduated from the University of North Texas with a Bachelors of Business Administration-Marketing Degree in December, 1971. After completing 38 years of service as a Methods Analyst, Administrative Manager, Allstate Insurance Agent, and Commercial Insurance Agent, he retired in November, 2009.
Ray lived his life in dedication to his family, community, and profession. His knowledge, intelligence, and his kind manner was always reflected in his business and life. He was highly regarded as an insurance professional by his colleagues and clients in the community he served.
To celebrate the life of Ray Keith, a memorial service will be held on May 6, 2022 at 11:00am at Rhoton Funeral Home, 1511 South I-35E, Carrollton, Tx 75006. A committal service prior to the memorial will be held on May 6, 2022 at 9:15am at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery located at 2000 Mountain Creek Parkway, Dallas, Texas 75211.
The Keith family requests that if desired, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in the name of Ray B. Keith to the Alzheimer's Association or American Cancer Association.
