Rebecca L. Asel was born October 29, 1949, in Galveston, TX. She passed away on September 7, 2020, in Carrollton, TX.
Beckie graduated from R.L. Turner High School in 1967. She attained a B.S. from the University of North Texas as well as a M.A. from the University of Texas at San Antonio. Beckie was a life-long teacher and taught in both Texas and Louisiana. Beckie was also a teacher trainer and observer with the Dallas ISD and later with Southern Methodist University.
Beckie is preceded in death by her brother Darrel and her mother, Frankie Cooke Lord. She is survived by her father, Lemuel C. Lord, her sister, Debbie Garrett and two daughters, Jessica Asel and Emily Asel. She also leaves behind three grandchildren, Sophie Rebecca, William Brian, and Luke Austin Coker.
