Richard Carl Selbrede

Richard Carl Selbrede, 66, of Carrollton, TX, died Thursday April 24, 2014 at Select Specialties Hospital, Carrollton, TX. He was born on September 27, 1947 in La Crosse to Harold “Sonny” and Patricia Selbrede (Hale). He grew up in La Crosse and Spooner WI and graduated from High School there.

Upon graduating High School, Richard joined the United States Air Force in 1965 and fought in the Vietnam War until 1968 achieving the rank of Seargent when he was Honorably Discharged.

He had several jobs but his most enjoyable was with Bank of America where he had plans of retirement.

He was married three times and is survived by his father, Harold “Sonny” Selbrede of Sparta, WI; brothers, Patrick Gagermeier of Onalaska, WI; Michael Gagermeier of Prineville, OR; Robert Gagermeier of Prineville, OR; Gerald Gagermeier of Manitowoc, WI; Felix Gagermeier of Clifton Park, NY; Kenneth Selbo of LaCrosse, WI; and Tim Selbo of Holmen, WI; current wife Solinda Selbrede of Carrollton; son, Jason Selbrede; daughters Tammy Taylor and Holly Gregory; son Daley Uy; daughter Darachan Capka; 9 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Richard is preceded in death by his mother, Patricia and brother Edwin Gagermeier

A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, May 3, 2014 at 11 am in the Chapel of Rhoton Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions are asked to be made in Richard's honor to the Children's Miracle Network.
