Santos Avelar Murillo

J.S. Avelar Murillo known to many as Santos, age 74, passed away on September 29, 2025 in Plano, Texas. He was born on February 1, 1951 in Aguascalientes, Mexico to Viviano Avelar Murillo and Rosario Murillo.

Santos married Hilda Murillo Munoz in 1981, and the couple had 5 children together. The two shared a loving marriage for 50 years.

Santos worked for Walmart where he spent 17 years working in the meat department. In his spare time he enjoyed tending to his yard and doing mechanical work. On occasion you could find him relaxing with his favorite snack, pan dulce with a cup of coffee.

His family and friends will always remember him as a hard worker but also as a family man. He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren and would often share words of advice or encouragement. He set an example by being a loving and true husband to his wife and caring for those around him.

Santos is survived by his wife; Hilda Murillo, children; Alejandro, Hilda (Richard), Santos Jr. (Porsha), Gabriel, and Maria (Edward), grandchildren; Wang, Jasmine, Xavier, Jacob, Elizabeth, Adriana, Joi, Gabriel, Gracie, Tyson, Neveah, Vincent, and Jose. Along with his great grandchildren; Ariana, Malakai, Nala, Kenzo, Analia, Ramzy, Santi, Yasmina, and Ava.

Visitations for Santos are scheduled for Thursday and Friday, October 9th and 10th from 5-9pm at Rhoton Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, October 11, 2025 at 10:30am at Miracle Tabernacle Church of God with a committal service to follow at 12pm at Hilltop Memorial Park.
