SUSAN L. DALEY
January 28, 1962 – October 7, 2019
Susan Leanne Daley passed away at her home in Carrollton, Texas on October 7, 2019 after a long battle with COPD and back trouble. Susan was born on January 28, 1962 in La Puente, California. She was proceeded in death by her mother Margarette (Rita) Daley. She is survived by her father Howard, brother Daniel, brother Thomas and his wife Kim, nephews Brice and Storm, and niece Kelly. She is greatly mourned by numerous friends and other family members and is greatly missed by the family cats Princess and Hunter. She attended Farmers Branch Elementary School and Vivian Field Middle School in Farmers Branch, Texas and was in the second graduation class of Newman Smith High School in Carrolllton, Texas. She was on the honor roll all through Junior and senior school. Susan attended Brookhaven College for one year and was VP of Student Forum and VP of the Wilderness Club. She played clarinet in both the marching band and the orchestra in both high school and college. She was active in sports and she played softball and soccer in club leagues while in school. Susan wanted to be an attorney until she saw a documentary about archeology but never achieved that goal. After leaving college, she continued to be very independent and came out as gay and lived her life on her own terms. She had several jobs but found a niche as a Courier Dispatcher at several companies and was praised by her employers and co-workers for her ability to balance delivery routes and resources to decrease delivery times and increase driver and company profitability. One of her proudest moments was being told by her assistant dispatcher that they were “not worthy” after he had to take over her duties one day when Susan was sick. Unfortunately deteriorating health issues prevented her from continuing to work in her profession. She had many friends and was respected for her kindness and generosity by all that knew her. She had several cats during her life and they were all adored by her and the love was reciprocated. She also “adopted” a one eared rabbit that lived in our yard that she named “beanie”. Those of you on Facebook have no doubt seen posts of some of them. Susan was loved by her parents and siblings all through her life even though some of her choices were not what we thought were best for her. She often stated that she appreciated our acceptance of her life choices. I know she is greatly missed by all that knew her.

She was always a great source of laughter for all her Facebook friends. I know she struggled with her health for a long time. But her bravery through it all was always so encouraging and positive...quite remarkable, really. I will miss her "Good Morning FB Friends" posts every day. Best story I remember is about the rabbit that used to live in her back yard.
