Dear Constanza family,
Can't say enough how much I am saddened by the loss of Cathy. You are in my thoughts and I know her legacy of love and hugs will always be with you.
I just wanted to share a smile, one of many, but was so Cathy.
I met Cathy in my second year at Sac State. I know her love of Tahoe as I had the privilege of being there.
I remember going to the beach for a day and at the end we somehow lost the keys to the car in the sand.
Well it took us an hour or so of sifting through the sand to find them. Why I remember this so clearly is how much we were laughing the whole time.
That is the gift that she gave...smiles, laughter, hugs and love.

You were always so funny & sweet with a beautiful spirit and a big warm heart. Thanks for the memories, all the little pep talks and for always being such a great coach/friend. Coach Costanza was great. I attended Rivercity High school in 2004. She was great and always smiling. Your lasting impression on me was the biggest impression. May you rest in your new home and watch over those who love and miss you dearly.

Cathy- I knew you were an amazing person the first time I met you 25 years ago at UPS. We had alot of laughs together and although we went our separate ways, I will always treasure the times we did spend together. The two things I will remember most are consistent with what everybody is else is saying- your incredible smile and infectious laugh. Oh man, to see and hear those again. If you didn't think you were special- just read what EVERYBODY is saying about you. The posts on your Facebook page and now the memories listed on this page- a true testament to the wonderful, amazing, bright, loving, caring woman you are. Your students adored you, your friends loved you, and your family will have a void that can never be filled. I hope you are giving everybody a run for their money now and spreading that Costanza cheer with all your new friends. I love you Cathy.

Costanza was one ok a kind!!! No matter where I would see her she always had a smile and a hug to give. She was not only a great Coach but friend as well. Last time I talked to her she still got onto me for not following through in basketball and teased me because I could never jump but aced and spiked with the best. She is forever in my thoughts when I think of basketball, volleyball, duck walks and chias...Although I am saddened that I will never get the chance to see her smile and feel her arms embrace me I know she is smiling and hugging us from above. RIP for you are missed and loved deeply. *hugs*

Coach,
No words exist that can express how much I already miss you. I've had a gnawing ache in my chest since I first learned of this horrible news. You were such an inspiration in my life; an exceptional individual indeed. The void that has been left will never be filled. I have never known a purer soul. You epitomized what an educator should look like. You literally changed my life by molding me to the person I am today. Dedication, determination, discipline… These words were printed on our practice jerseys and have become my everyday policies. Thank you for setting the bar high. Thank you for expecting more. Thank you for believing in me and for encouraging me to do things I might not have otherwise done. Thank you for measuring my success in my efforts and not my results. This always made me want to work harder for you. Finally, thank you for always being here for me; I don't know what I'm going to do without you.
My deepest sympathies to the Costanza family; I am so, so sorry for your loss.

I love you Catherine Costanza?. My coach, friend, teacher, and mentor. The one thing constant in all my memories with you is laughter. The memories I will have are from some of the best times of my life. I could always count on you to listen without judgement. Thank you for always being goofy when I needed it the most. Thank you for always cheering extra loud even when we were getting our butts kicked. Thank you for all the pep talks after a bad game. The Christmas parties, the bus rides, the trip to Oregon...Rest in Peace Coach. Love Danielle M.

Life is so fragile, Loss is so sudden, Heart is so broken, in the wake of such a loss, we are haunted by things we don't, and may never understand. Yet the solace we seek may not come from answers. So we look for comfort in the belief of love's everlasting connection. May that love lift us and hold us close, and give us peace. I have many marvelous memories of my friend Cathy to keep close to my heart forever. May she now rest in peace! I would like to express my sincere condolence to the wonderful Costanza family.
