I'm so sorry, Uncle Chuck (in Spirit), and Family (in the Physical)... I didn't know.   Blessed Be.  I'm sincerely grateful we got to reconnect, these last few years.

It is SO important for people in families, even adopted ones, to be there for each other.   Tell your family how much you love them, as often as possible.  It doesn't matter if you agree or disagree, if you are near or far from each other, or even if you have let time slip by... instead of spending time feeling the regret of time passed by, spend those moments doing what you can to let someone know you love them, that you're thinking of them, that you wish things were different, before too much time passes... and you lose your chance.  

Condolences on your loss.  I love my Father very much, as well, and I can't imagine a life without him in it (even if he's happier not speaking to me).

My father was one of the Heroes I looked up to as a child and for good reason. He served his country in the Armed Forces and I remember him wearing his uniform from as far back as I can. When I was age 6, in the early hours he rescued me from drowning in the deep end of a pool during the dead of Winter in his robe. Then dove back in to retrieve his glasses all before reporting for duty later that morning. He always made Birthday's personal holidays for his children and gave us the choice between one large gift or somewhere special to experience. He was always there to support me, regardless of my endeavor. When my daughter was born He said " Now the son becomes a father and the father becomes a son". I love you Dad! We will see each other again but until then, enjoy what the Father of us all has built for you! See you soon...

Mulling over words for Body Trap
Words didn't matter
The book was you
I still hear the sounds
Afternoons in a diner
And I watched as you jaunted up the walk
Carrying our book
