
Dayton, NV – Donna D. Clough, passed unexpectedly February 4, 2022, at Carson/Tahoe hospital in Carson City, she was 89. Born February 1, 1933, in Long Beach, CA., the daughter of Orval Waymond Buell and Ellen Rosanna (Van Deusan) Buell. The family soon moved to Visitation Valley, CA near San Francisco where other family members resided in Hayward and Vallejo CA. When she was 12 the family left the Bay Area and moved to Santa Ana in Orange County, CA where she attended Junior High School. She then joined Spurgeon Methodist Church and sang in their choir and occasionally sang solos for weddings and church events. Donna graduated from Santa Ana High School, class of 1950.
Following graduation she attended Business College and joined the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority. After she graduated college she took a position as head bookkeeper/office manager for a CPA firm in Orange, CA. Shortly after she met and married Doug Clough on December 7th, 1956. They settled in Tustin, CA where they raised their two children and an assortment of pets. She and Doug moved to Pollock Pines in 1979 where they designed and built their home. 40 years later Donna moved to her home at Eskaton in Placerville. Times were challenging with COVID and she decided to make an adventurous change and moved along with her daughter and son-in-law out of California to Dayton, Nevada. She loved her new home and the freedom she had in the spacious new home.
In her early years Donna was very influential and involved with the Girl Scouts of America. She also found time to volunteer with the children’s school and was responsible for creating the school library at C.C. Lambert Elementary. She bred champion line poodles and later on she and Doug showed Rottweilers and she became the president of the Orange County Rottweiler Club of America. Donna had a great love of music from Classical, to smooth jazz, Rock, Soft Rock/Pop, if there was music playing she was up dancing. She had a great love for life and unconditionally loved her family.
Donna is preceded in death by her parents, Orval and Ellen, her husband, Doug and her son Dane. She is survived by her daughter, Doane; son-in-law, Carl; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, several nieces and a nephew.
Services will be held Friday, March 4th at 1:00pm, Chapel of the Pines, located at 2855 Cold Springs Road in Placerville, CA. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to the American Heart Association or charity of your choice.
