Born and raised in Texas, Dottie married the love of her life, Robby Tompkins. She spent many years working for Western Airlines and later built a successful career in banking.
In retirement, Dottie and Robby settled into a beautiful home in Flagstaff, Arizona, bordering the National Forest, where she took great joy in watching the squirrels and deer that wandered through her backyard, often sharing photos of her wild visitors with family. She and Rob shared a love of travel, especially cruises, with the Bahamas and the Virgin Islands among her favorite destinations.
Rob passed away on August 17, 2015. Shortly after his passing, Dorothy moved to Dayton, Nevada, to live close to her sister and brother-in-law, Mary and Jim Harrison.
Dottie will be remembered for her quick wit, infectious laugh, and a heart that was as generous to strangers as it was to the people she loved. She cherished time with family and friends and loved nothing more than reminiscing about the full life she lived. Later in life and until she passed, Dottie took full advantage of current and evolving technologies — including ordering many of the things she wanted or needed online, "loving" Facebook posts, joining in on chats, and more — awesome at 90 years old!
She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Velma Currin; her husband, Robby Tompkins; and her siblings, Ruth Stoner, Ray Currin, JC Currin, Leona Foringer, and Mary Harrison. She is survived by twelve nieces and nephews, including her niece Linda Nicholudis, who had the privilege of caring for her in her final years and called it nothing short of a blessing. Dottie will be deeply missed, but her laughter, kindness, and love for those around her will live on in the hearts of everyone she touched.
