Afterglow

I'd like the memory of me to be a happy one. I'd like to leave an afterglow of smiles, when life is done.

I'd like to leave an echo whispering, softly down the ways. Of happy times and laughing times, and bright sunny days.

I'd like the tears of those who grieve, to dry before the sun. Of happy memories that I leave, when life is done.

Katie was a firecracker in the most positive way. She always had so much vitality, moxie and loved a good party/gathering ; and she was usually the life of the party : ) She was also fiercely devoted, loyal and protective of family and friends and would do anything for them. She was generous too - I remember spending many an evening visiting Kevin and would always receive an invite to dinner or a swim; I felt at home and like family.

I can only hope that I have as much "life" in me as Katie always did; she was the original Energizer Bunny! It does not surprise me in the least that she made it to 97/98! May she rest in peace. I also hope that Kevin can find some comfort in the many wonderful memories of Katie posted here as well as his own. She truly had a long, full life; one that we can all hope for.

Katie always had an open door and seat at the table. Her effervescent personality and great stories made her a friend to many generations. She was given a special seat by the King, and Susie and Paul were there to greet her. Praying for you Kevin.

Kevin, I am so sorry for your loss. The love and friendship between you and your Mom was amazing. Katie opened her heart and home to me and I loved her so much! Your bond with your Mom made you the caring, giving man you are today. I will forever hold her in my heart. Katie, until we meet again. With much love and sadness.

Kevin my memories of your mom were when I would go over to your house in HH and hang out with Susie. She was such a strong, petite woman. She was very quick at having a response to something Susie would say to her! You could never pull anything over on her!
She was always very well dressed and looked classy. She was well liked. She always had a sweet smile. I know you had such a loving relationship with her and will miss her dearly but she loved you to the moon and back Kevin! Thank you for allowing me to be a part of your lives! Love you! ❤️ Gail
