Pauline (Malicki) Gulka passed away on November 27, 2017 in Reno, Nevada at the age of 89. Pauline was born August, 9 1928 as the fourth of 5 children to Ignatz and Josephine Malicki in Belfield, North Dakota. Her early childhood days were spent playing on the farm with her brothers and sisters. At school age, she moved to town where she loved to play school and neighborhood sports.
In 1946 she graduated from Belfield High School and began work at a photo shop in Billings, Montana and later worked in a local coffee shop where she met her husband, Mitchell Gulka. They have been married for 68 years.
Pauline and her husband spent their early years of marriage raising a family of four children while living on a small farm 20 miles from Dickinson, North Dakota.
Once the children were grown, Pauline continued to be the vital support for Mitchell’s work through the SDA Church. She cheerfully packed and set up a new home for twenty five plus relocations, always making a sweet home. She gave to the community by working faithfully at the local SDA Dorcas sorting and cleaning donated clothes to be given away to families in need. One of her favorite hobbies was crocheting. She made many baby blankets to be used at local hospitals.
Pauline was known for her very delicious cooking. Her family loved her homemade Borscht, pierogi’s, beet bread, cabbage rolls and apple pie! She was a wonderful mother, sister, daughter and wife. She was intelligent, witty, and loved The Price is Right!
Pauline was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Josephine GodLasky, Martha Widon, and brother Frank Malicki. She is survived by her Husband, Mitchell; brother Charles Malicki; daughters Sandra Epple, Bonnie Folkes, and Michelle Gulka; son Curtis Gulka; 5 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
