Shirley Ann (Ramirez) Walker, 64, of Dayton, Nevada, passed away on October 2, 2025. She was born on November 17, 1960, in Santa Cruz, California, the daughter of Johnnie and Jennie Ramirez. Raised in Ripon, California, Shirley later met and married the love of her life, Louis “Glenn” Walker, in February of 1981.
Together they raised three children, in the foothills of Tuolumne County. She leaves behind her husband, Glenn, and beloved children, Nicholas (Marta) Walker, Amanda (Andrew) Silva, and Jacob (Sarah) Walker. Shirley was a proud grandmother to eight grandchildren: Aubrey, Annabelle, and Abigail Silva of Sonora, CA; Charlotte, Grant, and Claire Walker of Visalia, CA; and Leila and Bethanie Walker of Silver Springs, NV.
Shirley dedicated much of her life to helping others, working in the medical field, providing secretarial support, and serving as a strong advocate for families. Her greatest devotion, however, was always to her own family.
Faith was central to who Shirley was. A lifelong Catholic, she raised her children in the Catholic Church and often reminded them, “No one can ever take away your faith.” She lived by those words, leaning on hope and trust in God through every season. She believed hard times would pass, and she never missed the chance to lighten the moment with a quick joke or bit of sarcasm.
Her happiest times were with her children and grandchildren—spoiling them with surprise visits, family gatherings, holidays, and celebrations of even the smallest joys. She especially loved treating her grandchildren to ice cream, dinner at their favorite restaurants, or a shopping spree for new toys and goodies.
Cremation is planned, and a Catholic service will be held at a later date, in Sonora, Ca.
Shirley’s faith, humor, and love of family will be carried forward in the lives of all who knew her—proof that even in goodbye, she leaves behind joy.
