

Alec Anthony Prater, beloved son of Marsha Lynn Harris and Anthony Wayne Prater, left this world on January 13, 2024. He was met at Heavens Gates by his Paw Paw, Robert Alderman; his Grammie Jean Alderman; his Step Paw Paw, Jim Samples and his Paw Paw, Wayne Prater, along with many other family members.
Alec graduated from Woodstock High School in 2017 and completed the extended study program at Cass High School in 2019. Despite facing the challenges of Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, Alec lived life to the fullest traveling and experiencing the world.
He is survived by his mother, Marsha Lynn Harris; father Anthony Wayne Prater; stepmother, Lori Ann Prater; stepfather, Gregg Authur Harris; stepbrother, Gregg Anthony Harris; stepsisters, Heather Nicole Massey, Ashley Pike, Kayla Moore and his step-grandmother Edith Rose Harris. He is also remembered by his loving Memaw Janice Samples.
Alec had a special place in his heart for his 6 nephews, 7 nieces, many uncles, aunts and cousins. He will be remembered for his sense of humor that brought laughter to not only family but everyone around him.
He had a passion for super heroes, sci-fi, Pixar and action movies, along with a love for Rock music. Alec was an avid collector of hot wheels, knowledgeable about cars, an Xbox gamer and a smooth talker who could get anything he wanted with his charming wit and smile. He never forgot details of conversations and had a remarkable memory.
Alec was a dedicated fan of the Georgia Bulldogs, the Falcons, the Broncos and the Golden State basketball team. He enjoyed watching wrestling, especially with the women in the ring and also following the big-named guys.
His love for Jolly Ranchers, gummy bears, sour patch kids, Snickers and Mexican food was well-known. Alec's furry companions Tracker the cat and Bo the dog brought him a lot of comfort and joy.
A celebration of Alec's life will be held on January 27th at 1 pm at: Redtop Mountain State Park

Attendees are encouraged to bring their favorite covered dish, drinks, charged phones and cameras and memories to share.
In lieu of flowers the family kindly requests donations be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association in Alec's memory to support the study for a cure and summer camps for children.
Alec Anthony Prater will forever be loved and remembered and greatly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
May he always rest in peace.
