Anita Jean Parker (nee Gilleland) was known for offering her no-nonsense opinions that came with a balance of kindness and compassion, her love for Jesus, and her love of family; especially her grandchildren. She was known for her giving spirit, always gifting Thirty-One bags, Young Living essential oils, and devotionals to everyone she encountered. She was very involved in Crosspoint City Church and was a cherished member of their small group. You could always find her reading, spending time with family, listening and dancing to music, taking care of everybody she loved, and wearing her Live2540 shirts.
Anita was born to the late William and Nell Gilleland (nee Higgins) in Duluth, GA on February 7, 1957. She graduated from Norcross High School in 1975. She was proud to be a Mercer University graduate, where she earned her degree in Business in 1996. She placed her faith and trust in Jesus as her Savior and Lord at a young age. God lead her to meet her sweetheart Scott on eHarmony in 2013. They married in May of 2014 and began a life together of loving and serving God and people. She retired from her position of Senior Accounting Specialist at Alight Solutions in January 2022. Anita passed away on Thursday, December 28, 2023 after an unexpected illness.
Anita is survived by her loving husband Scott W. Parker; her daughter, Molly Puckett (Brandon); step-daughters Jordan Hutchinson (Brad), and Macy Parker; her grandchildren, Jenny Ragsdale, William Puckett, and David Puckett; step-grandchildren Titus Puckett, Ella Puckett, Jacob Puckett, Laila Hutchinson, Luke Hutchinson, and Avery Hutchinson; mother-in-law Andrea Parker; as well as her loving siblings Debbie Gilleland and Denise Gilleland.
Anita will be forever remembered for her outgoing personality, quick wit, and infectious laugh that uplifted the spirits of those around her. She will be dearly missed by all those who had the pleasure of knowing her.
