

She was born June 15, 1953, in Cartersville, Georgia and was the daughter of the late Joe Cowan and Lucelen Johnson Cowan. She was also prececed in death by her sister, Joelen Cowan Brown, and surveved by her son, Wyatt J. Sweat.
Anne graduated a year early from Cartersville High School and attended Kennesaw Junior College and later the University of Georgia, where she received a dual Bachelor’s in Speech Pathology and Audiology. She worked as the Speech Therapist for Cartersville City Schools until she had her son, when she then focused on becoming a homemaker during his early years. She was active in Cub Scouts and as an assistant with both the classroom and band program for several years during her son’s childhood. She also acted as the Sales Director for Applied Data Solutions, a family-run software development business. Later, she worked as a therapist helping stroke victims suffering from aphasia to recover their speech and be able to write again. She also worked as a tutor for primary and secondary age children and gave tours with the local museum featuring dinosaurs. In her early years she played the clarinet in the public school band, sitting 1st and 2nd chair. In her final years of life she practiced classical guitar and piano and cared for her Doberman, Athena.
A intimate gathering of Family and close Friends will be held on November 22, 2025, from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm at Owen Funeral Home, located at 12 Collins Dr, Cartersville, Georgia, 30120.
A Celebration of Life will follow at the same venue, starting at 2:00 pm.
Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens, Cartersville, GA.
