

Anthony G. “Antman” Smith, 41, of Asheville, NC, (formerly of Emerson, GA) lost his fight with Adrenoleukodystrophy on Sunday, April 22, 2012. Funeral services will be held at Owen Funeral Home on Thursday, April 26th at 1:00 P.M. Family will receive friends at Owen Funeral Home on Wednesday, April 25th from 6:00 to 9:00 P.M.
Anthony was born July 20, 1970, to Genell Cordell Smith and the late George Edward Smith of Emerson. He is a graduate of Cass High School and spent many years working in supervisory positions in manufacturing & quality control.
Surviving family members include: his loving & devoted wife of 8 years, Kelly Renee (Dyer) Smith of Asheville, NC; his children, Brittany Megan Smith & Taylor Anthony Smith; his step-daughter, Kristen Danielle Steel; his sister, Cheryl Brown; his sister-in-law, Janice Smith; aunts & uncles: Larry & Linda Cordell, Rovene Cordell, Lois & Charlie Rainey, Evelyn & Ronald Garland, Kate Grizzle, Ronald & Sharon Smith, and John & Louise Rampley; Niece & nephews: DJ Black, Brandon Hughes, Amanda Jarrett, and Eric Smith; great-nephews Mason & Aidan Hughes; a host of cousins and extended family, as well as special life-long best friends Donovan Shook, Tim Evans, & Michael Sneed.
Mr. Smith was preceded in death by his father, George Smith, his brother Michael Smith; aunts & uncles Charles Cordell, Jack Grizzle, Elmer Rampley, and Lillie Bell & JD Atkinson.
