Barbara Dale Black

Barbara was born in Cartersville, GA on February 10, 1941 to the late Ernest Hardin and Clara Chitwood Hardin. She is preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Wayne Black; brother, Billy Hardin (Rea) and sister, Opal Bearden (Robert). She is survived by her sister, Patsy Howell (Randy), several nieces and nephews.

Barbara and Wayne married on September 30, 1966. She was a longtime member of Tabernacle Baptist Church where she served faithfully.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Monday, December 8, 2025, beginning at 12:00 p.m., with a Celebration of Barbara’s Life at 2:00 p.m. at Owen Funeral Home. The interment will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery. Tyler Lewis, Alan Black, Braden McMicken, Hunter Southern, Evan Collins and Trevor Collins will serve as pallbearers.

The family extends special thanks to long-time care giver Debbie Smith, the staff of Manor Lake Memory Care, Trinity Hospice and the ladies at T and T Home Care.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Building Fund at Tabernacle Baptist Church or to the Alzheimer’s Association in Barbara’s honor.
