Barbara Ann Black

Mrs. Back was born April 21, 1938 in Bartow County, the daughter of the late, Raymond Esco and Fannie Mae (Martin) Allen and was a member of Zion Hill Baptist Church. She helped raise several of her nieces and nephews and enjoyed crocheting, making things with beads and collecting dolls.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Jimmy Lee Black, her brother, Buford Allen and a sister, Christine Sumner.

Surviving is her son, Esco Black of White, brothers and sisters, Ruby and Rev. Ralph Shook of Cartersville, Wayne and Frankie Allen of Emerson, Lesley and Peggy Allen of Shelby, N.C., Kenneth and Margaret Allen of Cartersville, Shirley and Steve Mayhue of McDonough, Ga., and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, November 9, 2014, at 3:00 p.m. at Zion Hill Baptist Church with Rev. David Baker and Rev. Johnathan Padgett officiating.

Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday evening from 6:00-8:00 p.m.

Pallbearers will be Kevin Allen, Russell Shook, Scott Allen, Chris Allen, Jordan Mayhue and Richard Watson.

Honorary pallbearers will be Wayne Allen, Lesley Allen and Kenneth Allen.

Owen Funeral Home, 12 Collins Drive, Cartersville Georgia is in charge of the arrangements.
