Mrs. Betty Jean Huskins, 75, of White, GA passed away Monday, June 3, 2019. Betty was born June 21, 1943 in Cartersville, GA to the Late Mr. David Whitener and Mrs. Maggie Ray Whitener.

Betty was a devoted mother, grandmother and wife. She was a very giving person who always put others before herself. Betty retired from R.D. after 10 years. She loved playing solitaire and was up for anything the grandkids were doing, no matter what. Betty was a member of Wesleyan Open Bible Church. She was loved by all who knew her and will be truly missed.

Betty is preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Jerry David Huskins, daughter, Tracy Owens, brothers; Luther, L.G., and Ronnie Whitener, and sisters; Frances Brookshire, Evenell Whitener, Elaine Boston, Patsy Nichols, and Birdie May Mashburn.

Betty is survived by her daughter, Vickie (Don) Hilley, grandchildren; Brent (Christa) Hilley, Brett and Brooke Owens, and Brandon (Kelly McPherson) Owens, and sisters; Bobbie Fox, Bernice Lee, and Toni (Doug) Vernon. Several nieces and nephews also survive to cherish Betty's memory.

A Celebration of Life service will be conducted in the chapel of Owen Funeral Home Thursday, June 6, 2019 at two o'clock in the afternoon with the Revs. Doug Vernon and Larry Huskins officiating. Serving as pallbearers will be: Brent Hilley, Brett Owens, Brandon Owens, Daniel Vernon, Robert Nichols and Shane Whitener. Interment will follow the service at White Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, June 5, 2019 from six o'clock in the evening until eight at Owen Funeral Home.

I am so sorry for the loss of Betty Jean, I loved her. There are so many good memories of her and my mother, they were truly a sight when they got together. When Mike & I would visit it was laughs until we left. She will be deeply missed. Praying for all the family.
