

Billy Robertson Womack of Cartersville, Georgia, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 2, 2016, at the age of 84. He was born on September 2, 1932, in the Bellwood Community in Gordon County, Georgia, the youngest child of the late N.V. and Annie Mae Womack.
Billy worked his entire life in the building and construction industry. At age 14 he built his first set of cabinets, and he eventually went on to establish several successful businesses as a realtor, general contractor, and developer. He was blessed with success in all of his endeavors and took pleasure in finding new ventures, even in his retirement.
Billy was well-known in the community; he served as President of the Cartersville Little League for 5 years, served in the Air Force Reserves, and was a faithful member of Pine Grove Baptist Church and follower of our Lord, Jesus Christ.
Most importantly, Billy was a loving father and grandfather whose presence will be dearly missed.
Billy is survived by his loving wife of nearly 66 years, Gewene McMillian Womack; his sons, Ray (Nancy), Dennis (Elizabeth), and Andy (Melinda); his grandchildren, Celena (Jeff), Matt (Caroline), Marc (Brianne), Stephen (Bess), Joseph (Nell), Brett (Tess), Jacob, Christa Beck (Jason), and Caryn; as well as many great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Clarence Womack, James Womack, and Frances Stewart, and by his infant granddaughter, Jenna Lynn Womack.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 5, at 11:00 a.m. at Owen Funeral Home in Cartersville, Georgia with Rev. Clinton Green, Rev. James Turpen, and Rev. Jeff Arnold officiating. Interment will immediately follow in Sunset Memory Gardens, Cartersville, Georgia.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, December 4, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Owen Funeral Home. The Deacons of Pine Grove Baptist Church will serve as pallbearers. Members of the Adult Men's Sunday School class of Pine Grove Baptist will serve as honorary pallbearers.
