
Mrs. Black was born on September 17, 1934 in Rowland Springs, GA, daughter of the late C.J. Smith and Mamie Sue Neal Smith.
Mrs. Black worked in the office at E-Z Mills and retired after many years of dedicated service. After retiring, she enjoyed traveling, spending time with her family and found her love of painting. She created many beautiful works of art including a portrait of her mother, landscapes and still life. She was of the Baptist faith and a member of Rowland Springs Baptist Church.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Jimmy "Kay" Black; brothers, Collins Smith, Neal Smith, Jack Smith, Cliff Smith, Max Smith and L.C. Smith; sisters, Dorothy Mashburn and Bonnie Griffin
She is survived by her sister, Jean (Allen) Roach; sister-in-law, Nancy Smith; many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to give a special thank you to the staff of Star Manor and Tapestry Hospice for the loving care shown to Mrs. Black.
A Celebration of Life Service will be conducted at two o'clock in the afternoon on Thursday, the 9th of November, 2017 in the chapel of Owen Funeral Home. Interment will immediately follow in Oak Hill Cemetery.
Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family at one o'clock in the afternoon on Thursday, November 9th, 2017 until service time at Owen Funeral Home.
