After graduation from Breckenridge High School in San Antonio, Texas he entered the Army and served almost five years. After his honorable discharge he attended the University of Texas, Austin, where he received his Bachelors in Business Administration and Restaurant Management.
His journey on this earth was marked by his generosity, compassion and unwavering faith in God. His passing will leave a void in the hearts of the many who loved him and those who regularly visited the restaurant he founded, Tacos-n-Subs. Broderick had a faithful following for almost 40 years where he was known to remember not only his customers names and orders, but also the names of their spouses and children. He always greeted with a smile and called out their names. Broderick donated generously to many causes in Cartersville. Many who knew him recall how he was always willing to help anyone who had a need and he was ready to lend a hand or money to help those who needed it.
He and his wife, Jean loved to dance and would clear the dance floor as others watched the two once upon a time dance instructors. He loved to swim and play tennis and he loved his dog. Most days you would find him at Tacos-n-Subs until the day he retired at age 82.
