Mr. DeVore was born on April 28, 1932 in Sugar Hill, GA, son of the late Roy DeVore, Sr. and Daisy Griffin DeVore.
Mr. DeVore was a graduate of Fulton High School class of 1949. He proudly served his country in the United States Army. He was also a dedicated employee with Bell South, retiring after thirty-six years of service. After retirement, he started DeTele Services, repairing and installing phone systems, much of which he did for charity. He was a man who never met a stranger and all who were near him would gather around to hear his stories. He was a true and faithful servant of the Lord and lived his life accordingly. His true passion was spending time with his loving wife of sixty-four years, Marie DeVore. They loved traveling the country together in their RV and their favorite destination was Alaska. He and Marie were actively involved in the West Fulton Owl Club and they hosted the annual Spring Picnic each May. He also enjoyed attending his grandsons sporting events. His wife, children and grandchildren were his true passion. He is so very missed but will never be forgotten.
He is preceded in death by his daughter, Loriann Carr; brothers, Griffin, Larry, Roy, and James DeVore; sister, Jane Knight.
He is survived by his wife, Marie DeVore; sons, Michael and Lee DeVore; daughter, Amy (Todd) Putman; grandchildren, Charles Price, Joshua Putman, Evan, Nicholas and Dave Carr; brothers, Jerry and Winston DeVore; son-in-law and his wife, Wes and Jamie Carr.
