On Wednesday, January 25th 1956, the world got a little sweeter when Calvin was born to Houston Lee Turner and Mary Lee Phillips Turner Weaver. When asked about their brother as a young man and what he was like growing up, Calvin’s siblings describe him as mischievous and inquisitive - sometimes getting himself into trouble (Not Calvin!). His brother says that Calvin was a protective big brother to his three younger sisters, exhibiting early signs of his caring and warm heart. Calvin graduated from Cartersville High School in 1974. A few years after graduating Calvin became a Daddy to his “little buddy” Kevin in May of 1977. He became Dad again in December of 1985 to his Jacob. In 1989 he met his “blue-eyed girlfriend”, Janice Williams, marrying her in August of 1989, welcoming a baby girl, Caitlin, years later in July of 1995.
Calvin was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He never met a stranger. He was always warm and inviting, making all that had the honor of coming into contact with him feel special and cherished by him. He was the best cuddler, the greatest hugger and had the most incredible belly laugh in the entire world.
Calvin Turner made everything a good time. He loved playing pranks on people, he was always down for a nerf war and loved having his house filled with teenagers.
Calvin was the greatest, most loving husband. He was the greatest example of fatherhood, even to kids that weren’t his. He was great at being many things to many people, but what he excelled at was being Aiden and Liam’s Grandad. Whether building forts, taking them to Six Flags or attending every game he could, no matter the sport, he was all in - 100%. He was theirs’ and they were his. And goodness, did he love his grandsons fiercely.
We should all count it a blessing to have been loved by him. The world will be forever changed by his absence.
Calvin is preceded in death by his parents and his step father, Pete Weaver, his grandparents - Reynolds & Alma Hillhouse Phillips, Grady & Fanny Turner, Sister - Sandra Turner Gunn, and nephews - Chip Turner & Zegan Mills. What a glorious reunion they must be having.

In lieu of flowers or donations, we ask that you take a moment to hug your child, grandchild, friend or walk in the woods for a moment, an hour or a day.
The family request that if anyone is not feeling well to please refrain from attending in person. The Live stream link is listed below.
