Carolyn Hatfield Hamrick, age 65, of Parkview Drive, Cartersville, Georgia, passed away following a brief illness, on January 25, 2014.

Mrs. Hamrick was born March 5, 1948 in Sumter, South Carolina daughter of Roger Hatfield and Fay Cagle Hatfield. She was the Campus Dean of Georgia Highlands College Cartersville Campus and was a member of Sam Jones United Methodist Church. She was on the Board of the Chamber of Commerce and was a member of the Etowah Rotary Club. She loved and was a strong supporter of Georgia Highlands College and Sam Jones United Methodist Church. She loved her Grandbabies and she gave a lot of her time to various activities at the college, her church, her family and her community.

Survivors include her husband, William “Bill” Hamrick; a daughter, Lizzi Galland, and husband Brad; a son, Ben Hamrick, and wife Theresa; grandchildren, Will Galland, Brogen Galland, Luke Hamrick, Jane Hamrick; parents, Roger & Fay Hatfield; sisters, Cindy Hatfield, Phyllis Faircloth, and husband Fred; a number of nieces and nephews also survive.

Graveside services will be held Thursday, January 30, 2014 at Oak Hill Cemetery at 10:30 am.

A memorial service will follow at 11:00 a.m. at Sam Jones United Methodist Church with Rev. Kevin Lobello officiating.

The family will receive friends Thursday following the memorial service in the Celebration Hall.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Sam Jones United Methodist Church Building Fund or Georgia Highlands College Scholarship Fund.
