Carter Sue Lipscomb

Carter “Sue” Lipscomb, 87, of Cartersville, died on Monday, July 2, 2018. Ms. Lipscomb was born on February 8, 1931 in Pickens County, Georgia, daughter of the late Carter and Belle Bryant Wilson, and one of thirteen siblings. Ms. Lipscomb was the Baptist faith and was a member of Grace Baptist Church. She loved to create things with her hands, including paintings and sewing. She loved the Lord, her husband, her children and grandchildren with all her heart. She is preceded in death by her parents; her brothers Ray Wilson, Glen Wilson, Robert Wilson, Hillard Wilson; her sisters Colleen Allred, Ethel Monroe and Mattie Leah Tatum. Survivors include her husband of 67 years, Wes Lipscomb; her children Mark Lipscomb, Debra Bateman and Lauren (Sean) Collins all of Cartersville; her grandchildren Cal Lipscomb, Zach Lipscomb, Caitlin Lipscomb, Matthew Banks, Julia Collins, Wesley Collins and Will Collins; along with her siblings, Carol (Clarence) Brown, Frances (Jimmy) Bingham, Betty (Ronald) Richards, Senate (Dottie) Wilson, Rev. Billy (Claudine) Wilson; along with numerous nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, July 9, 2018 at 5:00 p.m. at the Owen Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Doug Harris and Rev. Billy Wilson officiating. Ms. Lipscomb had a love for flowers, the family will be accepting flowers in her memory. Please visit to leave condolences for the family and sign the online guest register.
