Charles Weldon Guyton

Mr. Guyton was born October 1, 1930 in Bartow County, Georgia, son of the late Robert Leoland Guyton and Bessie Autra Daniel Guyton. He was employed by Belk Department Store in 1953 and continued on for 40 years in Menswear Sales. Mr. Guyton was an Elder of Bartow Cumberland Presbyterian Church and in later years attended Friendship Baptist Church.

He was a loving husband, father, brother, uncle and friend. He loved baseball, loved music; supported Bartow Singing Convention. He loved people, writing poems and playing piano. Mr. Guyton was a veteran of the Korean Conflict where he served in the U.S. Army. He was preceded in death by a sister, Rachel Guyton; brother, Daniel Guyton; sister, Patricia Turk.

Survivors include his wife, Frances Worthington Guyton; a son, Wesley Guyton of Rydal; sisters, Margie Waddell and husband, Hank of Germantown, TN and Sandra Ferguson and husband, Larry of Cedar Bluff, AL; sister-in-law, Virginia Guyton of Cartersville, GA, brother-in-law, Tom Turk of Gainesville, FL; host of nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be conducted Sunday afternoon, August 5th at 3:00 P.M. in the Owen Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. James Black officiating. Interment will be in the Georgia National Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 5:00 until 8:00 P.M. at Owen Funeral Home.

Nephews will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Elders of Bartow Cumberland Presbyterian Church.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Bartow Cumberland Presbyterian Church or Friendship Baptist Church.
