Christine Veal Lang

Her early childhood was spent in Georgia, and for most of her school years she lived in Euharlee, Georgia. She was a graduate of Cartersville High School, class of ’82 and the Georgia Institute of Technology. Soon after graduation Christy followed her dream and moved to California where she lived and worked for most of her adult life.

She is survived by her parents, Ann and Lee Burger, of Jasper, Ga., and Julian Veal and Donna Wear of Appling, Ga. She has two sisters, Julianne Veal of Gainesville, Florida and Laura J. Veal, of Zuni, Virginia, as well as two step sisters, Leslie Burger of New Jersey and Allison Sobol, of Hardin, Texas. Christy was the niece of Mary and Dwain Montgomery, of Cartersville and Johnny and Nancy Veal, of Milledgeville. There are several surviving cousins, nieces, and nephews, and a special friend, Scotty Hund, of Long Beach, California.

A visitation from 9:00 till 11:00 A.M. followed by a short memorial service at 11:00 A.M. will be held on Friday, May 30, 2014 at Owen Funeral Home in Cartersville. Family and friends are welcome. A scholarship has been set up in Christy’s name, and in lieu of flowers, the family invites donations be sent to the Etowah Scholarship Foundation, P.O. Box 1239., Cartersville, Ga. 30120
