Clara Belle Mote

Clara Belle Mote, 99, of Cartersville, Georgia, passed away Monday, August 29, 2022. Clara was preceded in death by her husband, Leycester Thurston Mote, her daughter, Julie Belinda Hopper and her great-grandson, Riley Reed.

Clara was born and raised in Blairsville, Georgia before moving to Atlanta where she met and married her husband. She lived and raised her children in the wonderful community of Sandtown located in South Fulton County. She was a member of Sandtown Baptist Church before moving to Cartersville in 1995.

Clara was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother. She loved her great-grandchildren dearly.

Survivors include two children, Larry Thurston (Marcie) Mote of Blue Ridge, Georgia and Theresa Jane Barr of Cartersville, Georgia; one sister, Eloise Sexton of Blairsville, Georgia; five grandchildren, Lori (Greg) Patch, Matthew (Shelley) Barr, Taylor (Arielle) Mote, Ben (Vicky) Mote and Jenna (Parker) Akins; eight great-grandchildren, Peyton Akins, Eden Akins, Clara Jane Patch, William Patch, Caleb Mote, Colton Mote, Logan Mote and Noa Mote; along with many beloved nieces and nephews.

The family would like to express gratitude to Tiger Lily Estates for the wonderful care and love provided to Clara and to us, her family.

Funeral Services will be held at 2pm on Wednesday, August 31 at Owen Funeral Home in Cartersville, GA with Chaplin Michael Westmoreland and Marcie Mote officiating. The interment will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, August 31, 2022 from 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm.
