

Cynthia Worley McBee, of Cartersville, GA, passed away on May 4, 2025. Born on September 21, 1963, she was the beloved daughter of the late Earl Worley and Patricia Fortner Chappell. She was also preceded in death by her cherished grandparents, Jesse and Rachel Fortner, and L.P. and Catherine Worley.
Cynthia is survived by her loving sons, Tyler McBee (Wyatt Scruggs) and Bradley Walraven, both of Cartersville, GA; her devoted sister, Susette Darnell and brother-in-law Kenny of Emerson, GA; nephews, Will Darnell of Douglasville, GA and Jake Darnell of Miami Beach, FL; as well as several cousins and many dear friends who were touched by her warmth and generosity.
A graduate of Cartersville High School, Cynthia began her career at Goodyear Tire, where she worked for 20 years before joining Shaw Industries. There, she recently earned a promotion to Customer Care Solutionist—a testament to her dedication and hard work of 22 years of service.
Cynthia had a passion for thrifting and bargain hunting, and she found joy in cultivating her beautiful flower garden. She possessed a remarkable gift for remembering even the smallest details about the people she cared for, reflecting her deeply empathetic and nurturing nature. Known for her kindness, selflessness, and sentimental heart, Cynthia was a devoted caretaker and an unwavering source of comfort to others. In 2014, she became a proud breast cancer survivor—an experience that deepened her strength, compassion, and appreciation for life’s simple blessings.
She delighted in simple pleasures and cherished quality time with her family and friends. An avid crafter, she took joy not only in creating but in giving her creations away—always seeing the beauty and potential in both her crafts and the people around her.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on Wednesday, May 7, 2025, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Owen Funeral Home. A Celebration of Cynthia’s Life will follow on Thursday, May 8, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Owen Funeral Home, with Pastor Khyri Rogers officiating. The family will receive guests beginning at 1:00 p.m. Cynthia will be laid to rest at Oak Hill Cemetery in Cartersville, GA.
She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
