I will always remember Dane for his sense of humor and intelligence. I will never forget some of the far out conversations which we have had over the years. He was a good and kind soul. He will be missed.

I do not recall a time that I went into Belk that I did not go to the Men's Department to say hello to Dane. He was a wonderful person and I considered him to be a friend. He will truly be missed. Heaven got an angel.

Dane and I were first cousins. I am older and knew Dane from birth, as well as Uncle Carl and Aunt "Gin". I will always have fond memories of my visits with their family. Dane always amazed me with his intelligence and understanding of the world around him. He was particularly fond history, even when he was small. I always enjoyed visiting with him and will miss him greatly. God Bless "Cousin". Mike Vaughan

Dane's mother, Virgina, was my most favorite teacher when I attended the Presbyterian Church kindergarten one year. Later, in high school Dane was a student teacher in one of my classes. I was so blessed to know them both and saddened to hear of his passing.

Dane was one of the sweetest people I ever met. We worked together at Belk, and he was always helpful. My heart is completely broken about his sudden passing.
