

Mr. Peace was born February 22, 1938 in Cartersville, Georgia son of the late Jimmy Peace and Pauline Martin Peace. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and was of the Baptist faith. He was a graduate of Cass High School in 1957.
Mr. Peace began working at the age of 16 starting at Kingston Mills, then Union Carbide and later was in hotel management. He became self-employed in 1972 with Quality Inn Restaurant till 1987. He was co-owner of Wilson Funeral Home in Fort Payne, AL.
He was very active with his grandchildren’s activities. He was a member of the Kiwanis Club; he was a licensed pilot and was an avid fisherman. He was a member of Cartersville Masonic Lodge #63 F & AM, was a 32nd Degree Scottish Rite Mason and was a Shriner.
Mr. Peace was preceded in death by his parents, Jimmy & Pauline Martin Peace and a sister, Corinne Peace Simpson.
Mr. Peace is survived by his wife of 53 years, Anne Roland Peace; a daughter & son-in-law, Leigh Anne Peace (Martin) Shepard; grandchildren, Asa Shepard, Eliza Shepard; honorary grandchildren, Jianncarlo Isidro Shoc Rivadeneyra; a brother-in-law, Charles Simpson ;Sister in law Eva Mae Roland, nieces Pam (James) Garmon, Rhonda Locklear; several nieces and nephews; host of friends also survive.
A Celebration of Life service will be conducted on Saturday, June 13, 2020 at 2:00 pm in the Owen Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jack Edwards and Ronnie Highfield officiating. Interment will follow in Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, Ryo Community, Fairmount, GA. with Carl Boyd American Legion to render military honors.
The family will have a visitation at Owen Funeral Home on Saturday from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm.
Pallbearers will include Brenton Garmon, Tony Southern, Shawn Cochran, Scott Allen, Vince Stewart and Shanon McDurmon. Honorary pallbearers will include Charles Phillips, John Hamilton, Earl Cochran and Harold Brown.
