Cookie married her husband, James Havens, in 1960. Together they shared more than 66 years of marriage, building a life filled with family, companionship, and devotion to one another. James was the great love of her life, and the life they built together was one of the things she treasured most.
Cookie had a lifelong love of animals. They brought her great joy and were always an important part of her life.
Above all, Cookie loved her family. She will be remembered for the love she gave, the memories she created, and the many years she shared with the people and animals she loved.
Cookie is survived by her beloved husband, James Havens; her children, Laura Havens Morris (Scott) and Patrick Havens (Michelle); her grandchildren, Lauren Havens Young (Mackenzie) and Alyssa Havens (Jonathan); and her great-grandchildren, Novalie Young, Salem Cole, Mina Cole, and Evelyn Cole. She will also be lovingly remembered by her brothers, Billy Lyerla (Betty) and Chris Lyerla (Shelia) and many more family and friends who will miss her dearly.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Ethel; her father, Thomas “Buddy”; and her brother, Richard.
Cookie’s absence will be deeply felt by all who loved her, but the love and memories she leaves behind will remain with her family for generations to come.
