Dorothy "Yvonne" Taylor

Yvonne was born on April 28, 1935 in Fairmount, GA, daughter of the late Henry Willis and Velma Cochran Willis.

Yvonne graduated as Valedictorian, class of 1952 from Pine Log High School. She was a true and faithful servant of the Lord and a proud and active member of Pleasant Olive Baptist Church. In her spare time she enjoyed, reading, watching movies and shopping with her grandchildren. Her grandchildren were the light of her world and her pride and joy.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband of sixty-four years, Eugene Taylor; grandson, Russ Cowart; brother-in-law, Frank Hutchinson.

Survivors include her sons, Keith (Susan) Taylor of Rydal, GA and Steve (Sandy) Taylor of Cartersville, GA; Allison (Brian) Earick, Megan (Derron) Brown, Byron (Felicia) Taylor, Risa (Randall) Smith, Leah (Aaron) Vickroy; numerous great-grandchildren; brothers, Harold (Mae) Willis and Jerry (Judy) Willis; sister, Ailene Hutchinson.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Yvonne's caregivers for their warm and tender care.

A Celebration of Life Service will be conducted at two o'clock in the afternoon on Sunday, the 4th of September, 2016 in the chapel of Owen Funeral Home with Rev. Derron Brown and Aaron Vickroy officiating. Interment will immediately follow with an escorted cortege to Pine Log United Methodist Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers are Byron Taylor, Randell Smith, Brian Earick, Hal Womack, Wil Womack, Zach Cowart.

Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from five o'clock in the evening until eight, on Saturday, the 3rd of September, 2016 at Owen Funeral Home.

In lieu of customary remembrances, the family kindly requests memorial contributions in Yvonne's honor to the Alzheimer's Association or Pleasant Olive Baptist Church, PO Box 144, Rydal, GA 30171.
