Mrs. Elizabeth Johnson Jones

Mrs. Jones was born April 11, 1943, in Grainger County, Tenn., daughter of the late Robert Lee Johnson and Eva Hazel Roach Johnson. She was a member of Cartersville First Baptist Church where she was very active in the Mentoring Program. She was retired from Glaxo-Smith Cline-Beecham Laboratory where she was a cyto technologist for over 30 years.

Survivors include her husband, John Paul Jones; her children, Robert Saxon and Lana Highfield Jones and John Ryan and Julia Johnson Jones; a grandson, Bennett Ryan Jones; cousins, Evelyn Cockrum, Victoria Harris, Connie Benton and Debbie Johnson.

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, May 12, at 1 p.m. in the Owen Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Randall Williams officiating. Graveside interment services will be conducted Thursday, May 13, at 1 p.m. at Oakland Baptist Church Cemetery in Rutledge, Tenn., with Rev. Stacey Lawson officiating.

The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 5 until 7 p.m. at the Owen Funeral Home.

Pallbearers include Bob Jones, Ryan Jones, Roger Day, Lucas Minnich, Anthony Minnich, Donny Williams, David Hodges and Norman Acuff.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Cartersville First Baptist Church.
