

Emma Jean Wingo, 80, of Cartersville, died Sunday, Oct. 3, 2010. Mrs. Wingo was born Sept. 28, 1930, in Cobb County, a daughter of the late William Emory Crowe and Emma Elaine Hunt Crowe. She was a member of the Tabernacle Baptist Church in Cartersville, member of the Eastern Star Chapter #414 Kennesaw, member of the Red Hat Society in Cartersville and was a retired operating room scheduler at Kennestone Hospital. Always an active person, Mrs. Wingo loved her church, loved to travel, love to camp and to garden. She especially loved her children and grandchildren. Preceded in death by her first husband and the father of her children, (W.A.) Bill Brown, and her second husband, Robert Harold Wingo, she is survived by her children and their spouses, Donna J. and James Green, Vicki Smith and fiancé Anthony (Tony) Bolick, and K.A. (Tony) and Sheryl Brown, all of Cartersville; her grandchildren, Ashley Smith, Eric Smith, Matthew Green, Emma Lauren Castro, Lindsey Brown, Derek Brown and Emily Brown; her great-grandchildren, Victoria Deshler, Tabatha Smith, Nicholas Smith, William Green and Charlotte Green; one sister, Jeanelle Houze of Acworth; nephews, Ricky, Lamar and Winford Houze; and her late niece, Sheila Houze. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 6, from the Tabernacle Baptist Church in Cartersville with Dr. Don Hattaway and Dr. Norman Hunt officiating. Internment will be held in the Sawnee View Gardens in Cumming. Pallbearers will be Ashley Smith, Matt Green, Eric Smith, Derek Brown, Tony Bolick and Jason Castro. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Tabernacle Baptist Church, 112 E. Church St., Cartersville, GA 30120.
