Evelyn Elaine Garland

Evelyn Elaine Garland, age 83 of Cartersville, Georgia passed away on Tuesday, December 24, 2024. She was born in Bartow County, Georgia on November 3, 1941 to the late Rev. James Howard Cordell and Minnie Wilson Cordell.

Evelyn is preceded in death by her son, Kenneth Garland; parents Rev. James Howard and Minnie Cordell; sisters Kate Grizzle, Genell Smith, Lois Rainey, and Lillie Bell Atkinson; brothers Charles, Howard “Junior”, Ernest and Harold Clinton Cordell. She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Ronald Garland; daughter, Lynn Quick (Wayne), granddaughters Katie Quick, Brittney Quick, great-granddaughter Aveah Quick, siblings, Larry Cordell, Marvin Cordell (Reba), Velva Chandler, Patricia Harrison, sister-in-law Geraldine (Garland) Cvazquezie (Ralph), brother-in-law Jerry Doyle Garland (Ann), and a host of nieces and nephews.

Evelyn was a loving wife, loving Mother. She loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and Family. She loved to go camping in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee with family and friends. Evelyn was an avid shopper who loved to shop at Belk.

Pallbearers will be Tim Garland, Josh Brown, Lance Robinson, Wayne Quick, Dewayne Taylor, Heath Massey.

A Graveside Service will be conducted at 1pm on Saturday, December 28, 2024 at Mount Pleasant Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Clinton Green and Rev. Josh Brown officiating. The family will receive friends on Saturday, December 28th from 11:30 am until 12:30pm at Owen Funeral Home, 12 Collins Dr, Cartersville, Georgia 30120.
