Ms. Flonnie Mae Whitener, 82 went to be with her Savior on Wednesday, October 9, 2019. Flonnie was born in Rockmart, GA on April 8, 1937 to the late Mr. George L. Morris and Mrs. Gladys Mae Hendrix Morris.
Flonnie was a devout Christian who loved her Lord and family. She was a member of the Church at Liberty Square. She taught Sunday school, worked in the jail ministry and was a beloved caregiver for children in many daycares and churches. She will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Flonnie is preceded in death by her parents, daughter, Janette Segers, grandson, Conner Whitener, and sister, Hazel Bennett.
She is survived by her sons; E. Larry Whitener and Allen Whitener, son-in-law, Tony Segers, grandchildren; Brandon Charbonneau, Paul Segers, Dustin Whitener, Shanna Rogers, Hannah Nichols, Victoria Satterfield and Olivia Satterfield. Seven great grandchildren also survive, brother, Lonnie (Janice) Morris, James Morris, and sister, Sammie (Jimmy) Cornett Moore.
A Celebration of Life Service will be conducted on Friday, October 11, 2019 at the Church at Liberty Square at eleven o'clock in the morning with the Revs. Jacob King and Mike Pasley officiating. Interment will follow the service at Providence Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Owen Funeral Home Thursday, October 10, 2019 from five o'clock in the evening until eight.
